Least-squares reverse-time migration in VTI media using a T-distribution-based misfit function

چکیده

Abstract Anisotropy of subsurface media can affect the seismic wave travel time estimates, and then imaging target regions. To calibrate effect anisotropy, a VTI (transverse isotropy with vertical symmetry axis) least-squares reverse-time migration (LSRTM) algorithm is used. However, if data contains noise especially outliers, high-quality images cannot be produced by LSRTM based on an L2 norm. Considering that Student's t-distribution has better robustness than norm, this study derives VTI-LSRTM (T-VTI-LSRTM) misfit function. The plane-wave encoding introduced into T-VTI-LSRTM to improve computational efficiency. We conduct numerical tests using complex models illustrate effectiveness adaptability method. sensitivity analysis velocity anisotropy parameters demonstrate have distinct results, in which strongest, epsilon parameter delta weakest.

Elastic least-squares reverse time migration

Least-squares migration (LSM) can produce images with improved resolution and reduced migration artifacts. We propose a method for elastic least-squares reverse time migration (LSRTM) based on different types of imaging condition. Perturbation imaging condition leads to images for squared P and S velocity models; the displacement imaging condition crosscorrelates components of the source and re...

Elastic least-squares reverse time migration using the energy norm

We derive linearized modeling and migration operators based on the energy norm for elastic wavefields in arbitrary anisotropic media. We use these operators to perform anisotropic least-squares reverse time migration (LSRTM) and generate a scalar image that represents subsurface reflectivity without costly decomposition of wave modes. Imaging operators based on the energy norm have the advantag...

3D acoustic least-squares reverse time migration using the energy norm

We have developed a least-squares reverse time migration (LSRTM) method that uses an energy-based imaging condition to obtain faster convergence rates when compared with similar methods based on conventional imaging conditions. To achieve our goal, we also define a linearized modeling operator that is the proper adjoint of the energy migration operator. Our modeling and migration operators use ...

Residual migration in VTI media using anisotropy continuation

We introduce anisotropy continuation as a process which relates changes in seismic images to perturbations in the anisotropic medium parameters. This process is constrained by two kinematic equations, one for perturbations in the normal-moveout (NMO) velocity and the other for perturbations in the dimensionless anisotropy parameter η. We consider separately the case of post-stack migration and ...
